Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC)
Jaelan has supported DCC since his rookie season with the Dolphins in 2021. In the annual DCC Bike Ride and 5K that raises money for cancer research, Jaelan was one of two Dolphins players in the history of the event to ride 100 miles. In 2022, Jaelan was asked to join the Board of DCC, a position he still holds today. In this role he helps lead awareness, fundraises, and helps plan for the annual DCC bike and 5K event. In 2024, Jaelan co-sponsored his first fundraiser event with Gallery Dept. in the Miami Design District. This event raised over $60,000 for DCC and its efforts to combat cancer. Jaelan has also volunteered many hours during his time with the Dolphins, including visiting pediatric patients at Alex’s Place at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is a direct beneficiary of DCC funds.
The Jaelan Phillips Foundation will continue to partner with DCC by donating funds, volunteering with programs that support young cancer patients, and continuing to support other DCC efforts.

The Verb Kind
The Verb Kind is a non-profit organization based in the Miami area that provides mentoring programs to incarcerated youth in juvenile detention centers by committing to their three main goals of reducing re-incarceration rates, improving education via higher graduation rates, and serving as a consistent resource both inside and outside of incarceration. Jaelan became involved with The Verb Kind in 2022, when the founder met him and said, “Come to Jail with me!” This led to him visiting a juvenile detention center, engaging with the youth, and talking to them about second chances and not letting your past determine your future. He then returned to the detention center with several of his Dolphins teammates to play pick-up basketball games and spend time with them; a simple act that is the cornerstone of The Verb Kind. His work with the Verb Kind earned him the honor of being named the Week 8 NFLPA Community MVP in 2022.
Jaelan currently serves on the board of The Verb Kind and, through the Jaelan Phillips Foundation, will continue to partner with the organization through funding opportunities, mobilization of resources, and volunteerism.

Lotus House
During his rookie season, Jaelan volunteered on multiple occasions at the Lotus House, a shelter in Overtown, Miami, for single women and children that are experiencing homelessness. He would drive down to the shelter on his day off and bond with the youth living in the shelter by playing games, donating costumes for Halloween, and decorating cookies at Thanksgiving. Jaelan volunteered throughout his youth with organizations in his hometown that supported homeless youth and families; therefore, when given the opportunity to give back in the Miami area, he felt it was important to uplift these young people who were experiencing trauma caused by homelessness at such a young age. In January 2022, his service at the Lotus House, as well as other efforts in the community, earned him the Nat Moore Community Service Award, an honor that had never been given to a rookie.
The Jaelan Phillips Foundation will continue to support the youth at Lotus House through donations, volunteerism, and holiday events.

Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
Jaelan was introduced to the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital through Big Hearts for Little Hearts, an auxiliary of the hospital. The purpose of the auxiliary is to give children who are in the hospital with serious illnesses a retreat from the anxiety of treatment by giving them something to watch and listen to during their stay at the hospital. To accomplish this, published authors, community members, and athletes dress up as characters from children’s books and read during “Story Time,” which is broadcasted on a television channel created exclusively for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
The Jaelan Phillips Foundation hopes to expand its partnership with Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital through the auxiliary to bring music to children during their stay in the hospital.
